Realme 6 has been available in other markets for quite a while now, having been first announced back in March 2020. The device packs quite a lot for the price but how does it fair against its competition? Realme 6 spots 4 — 8 GB RAM and under the hood is the Mediatek MT6785 Helio G90T processor. What else does this device bring to the table? Well, here are the highlights of the spec sheet. Perhaps the highlighting feature of this device is the 90Hz display refresh-rate. At a time when many devices cap out at 60Hz and 90Hz is largely reserved for the ultra-flagships, it is refreshing to see a mid-range device with this feature. We cannot speak to many other features of this device until we get and review our in-house unit so stay tuned for that and more. The Realme 6 also packs fast charging that puts many devices in the market today to shame. At 30W, this is among the fastest charging devices we have in the Kenyan market today.
Price and Availability
The Realme 6 is getting launched today, August 25 into the Kenyan market and it should retail at a little less than KES 30,000. This puts the device in direct competition to devices from sister company, Oppo in form of the Oppo A92 and the Samsung Galaxy A51, just to mention but a few. A post shared by realme Kenya (@realmekenya) on Aug 24, 2020 at 12:45am PDT To recall, not too long ago we saw Realme launch its first smartphone in Kenya, the Realme C3, a compelling offer for users in the market for a device below KES 20,000. It will be interesting to see how Realme fares in the competitive smartphone market that has been largely dominated by Trassion’s Infinix, Tecno and iTel. I, for one, am excited to see this kind of competition with compelling devices from Oppo, Vivo, Realme and Xiaomi, just to mention a few vendors.
