Poco as a brand has seemingly been all about presenting Xiaomi devices under different names with little if anything at all, changed from the Xiaomi-made product. We have seen that with all Pocophones except the original Pocophone F1 and today, this trend is going one step further. Poco recently unveiled the Poco Watch, an interesting smartwatch that offers a lot of value for money with some smartwatch features stapled on top of fitness tracker features.

POCO Watch Specs

The POCO watch is powered by a 225mAh battery. POCO says that this is good for up to 14 days but that is probably based on lab tests and every possible feature turned off to save on battery. In our experience, expect about a week of normal usage. Below is a quick rundown of the Poco Watch specifications

Perhaps one of the important things to note about this watch is that it comes with an AMOLED display instead of the LCD that we saw on the Redmi Watch 2 Lite. This ensures good viewing angles and most importantly, allows for Always-on Display. This means that you don’t have to do aggressive hand gestures to trigger the watch’s wrist detection feature when you want to check the time. This is a big improvement to the experience of the watch.

Software

As expected, the POCO Watch doesn’t run on Google Watch OS or anything mainstream like the watches we’ve seen from the likes of Samsung and even the upcoming Pixel Watch. Instead, the POCO Watch runs the same OS we’ve seen on Xiaomi watches. This OS is pretty solid and offers a lot of smartwatch features and all the fitness features you could ever need, all while still remaining easy on the resources and battery. The Poco Watch still connects to your phone using the Xiaomi Wear app that’s recently been rebranded to Mi Fitness, perhaps an indication of just how Xiaomi this Poco Watch is.

Pricing and Availability

The POCO Watch should be hitting shelves across various regions worldwide over the next few weeks and will be available in 3 different colors, Blue, Black, and Ivory. The early-bird starting price of the POCO Watch is set at around $83.33, or €79.
